A Call to Action! Restore the East Branch

From our Founding Partners at the Ashokan-Pepacton Chapter of Trout Unlimited:

The East Branch of the Delaware is one of two branches (the other, not surprisingly, is the West Branch) that flow together to make the Delaware River, and is an important habitat for native brown trout.

The Chapter’s East Branch Delaware Restoration Committee: consisting of Peter Marx, George Markos, and Lenny Millen, with invaluable help and assistance from Tracy Brown— Trout Unlimited’s Northeastern Restoration Coordinator, have issued a Call for Action.  Action in the form of phone calls and/or emails are needed now.

Peter Marx has requested our members to please make a quick phone call or send an email to Senator Chuck Schumer’s office about this.  He is the key to making this happen right now. The ask is:

Please ask Senator Schumer to support the $5 million for the new Delaware River Basin Restoration Program that is in the House Interior Appropriations Bill for the final Fiscal Year 2018 funding bill. Thank you.
You can send an email directly to his DC staff person who works on this, Sean Byrne: sean_byrne@schumer.senate.gov or use the Senator’s on-line form – https://www.schumer.senate.gov/contact/email-chuck or call the DC office at 202-224-6542 or call his Binghamton Office at 607-772-6792 (or any of his other district offices).

Please make sure that you identify yourself as a NY resident, assuming that you are. You can also identify yourself with TU or not – either way is fine.  TU National is a strong supporter of this new program and its funding.

Thank you!
