In the Catskill Mountains, opportunities for exceptional fly fishing are just outside your door. The legendary Esopus Creek offers the ideal classroom for a beginner fly fisherman to learn the practical skills behind the mystery surrounding the sport. Catskill Mountain Angler can teach you those skills and introduce you to the charms of our Catskill trout waters. If you are an experienced angler, we can guide you to the famous pools and runs you have always read about, and help you polish your game.
Catskill Mountain Angler licensed guide Mark Loete provides fly fishing instruction and guided trips in the high peaks region of the Catskill Mountains.
Guiding rates are as follows:
Half Day, one or two people: $300
Half Day, three or four people: $500
Full Day, one person: $400
Full Day, two people: $425
Full Day, three people: $700
Full Day, four people: $725
Full day includes picnic lunch. For three or more anglers, we’ll have an additional guide. Catskill Mountain Angler provides fly rods, reels, fly line, and flies, or bring your own favorites. The Esopus Creek is a wade only river, and anglers will need to provide their own waders and wading boots. Waders and boots may be rented from local outfitters for $35/day. (We can pick up and return your rental boots and waders for you for a $25 fee.) We advocate catch-and-release conservation practices.
Let Catskill Mountain Angler introduce you to a few new friends, both human and piscatorial!
