The Catskill Mountains host 27 different breeding warblers and at least 9 more species thave been documented passing through.

In honor of these amazing birds, the 3rd annual Taking Flight Conference is all about warblers.

The last weekend of the Catskills Trout Tales 2018 calendar, we will take flight into summer with the song of Bicknell’s Thrush and other extraordinary warblers of the Catskills.

May 25 – May 27, 2018 at the Emerson Resort & Spa
A project of the Catskill Center for Conservation and Development
Anchored by Scott Whittle and Tom Stephenson, co-writers of The Warbler Guide.

Scott and Tom will lead warbler hikes, warbler workshops on birdsong, how to ID and photograph, give a special Saturday night keynote, and more, sharing what makes these little birds of the Catskills so special. As you might guess from their name, warblers have some of the most delightful song of the bird world.
