Trees for Tribs | Thorn Preserve
April 22 - April 28| Free
There is a week of natural restoration happening at the Catskill Center’s Thorn Preserve. With your help and a grant from the New York State Trees for Tribs program, the Catskill Center will undertake a restoration of the riparian zone along the Sawkill Creek at the Preserve. From Monday, April 22nd to Thursday April 25th join the staff of C.R.I.S.P. and other members of the Catskill Center staff, along with students and other volunteers, in an effort to remove invasive Japanese knotweed and other invasive plants. Then starting Friday, April 26th, join us to help plant 800 native trees and shrubs.
The Catskill Center will provide tools and work gloves along with water and snacks. You are welcome to bring your own tools, ( and you should label them), and your own gloves. Dress for the weather and for digging in the dirt. The Thorn Preserve is located at 55 John Joy Road in Woodstock. If you questions, email Michael Drillinger at firstname.lastname@example.org.
