The Catskill Mountain News is one of the earliest partners in the Trout Tales vision, providing an amazing full color insert for free to all of the Catskills Trout Tales events and locations around the region. Filled with all sorts of goodies, from schedules to interviews and details on some of the greatest fly fishing insider tips! Look for one when you visit!

The Catskill Mountain News, published weekly since 1863, is the flagship publication for news and information in the Central Catskills region.

The newspaper, delivered to stores and post offices every Wednesday, offers exclusive stories, about the people and events in Andes, Arkville, Boiceville, Bovina, Fleischmanns, Grand Gorge, Highmount, Halcottville, Halcott Center, Margaretville, New Kingston, Phoencia, Pine Hill, Roxbury, Shandaken and beyond. The paid circulation base provides advertisers with a consistent audience of both local residents and second homeowners in the area.

The Catskill Mountain News also offers news and information as it happens, on its website, and on its Facebook page. Readers are encouraged to participate, by sending news tips and photos, letters to editors, story suggestions and general comments.

Deadlines for news and editorial copy for the weekly newspaper is noon each Monday unless otherwise posted.

WIOX Community Radio is the Catskills’ wildly diverse, live and local radio station blasting its signal throughout the New York City Watershed at 91.3 FM and to the world at WIOX broadcasts programming that is user generated by and for a hyper-local and growing worldwide audience of volunteers and contributors. Live and local programs are produced  by  a  staff  of  more  than  85  community volunteers.  WIOX is an  FCC licensed  full power Class A  radio  station. The station began broadcasting  on August  27, 2010.The  signal  is sent from  the  studios  at  the  former  Masonic  Lodge  on  Bridge  Street  in  Roxbury at 91.3 FM, to and to the backbone of your smartphone (download the free iPhone app or use TuneIn).

Remote broadcasts  have  covered  breaking  news  (e.g.,  flood  emergencies)  and  public  events    (e.g.,  community  concerts).  WIOX  has  also  provided  network  feeds  and  simulcasts    to    remote  locations— regionally  (e.g.,  MTC  television  channel  20)    and  nationally  (e.g.,  National    Public  Radio).
